We did see one calf being born. This solid black boy wasn't getting any attention from his momma, so the next to calve momma took care of him :)

Quick Visit to Fair Oaks
On Sunday, we made a quick visit to one of our favorite places, Fair Oaks Farms. They had a small model train show going on. There's not a lot to do there during the winter. The outside play areas are closed (of course).

Muffin Tin Monday - The Arctic (sort of)
Today's Muffin Tin Monday is "The Arctic". For lunch, Connor had:
A boulder sandwich from the Chuggington book, "Snowstruck Wilson"
- Brownberry Honey Wheat Sandwich Thins
- Mayo
- Cracked pepper turkey
- Cheddar Cheese
Apple slices
Yogurt raisin snowballs
Blue vanilla pudding with silver snowballs
Marshmallow snowballs
Yeah, a lot of snowballs...
After looking at some of the other entries, I could have done a lot better. Someone did penguin sandwiches. I have that penguin cutter, didn't think about it until it was too late. Someone did whale cheese crackers, I just saw those last week and didn't get them. Oh well, he enjoyed it and that's all that matters!
See the other Arctic entries here!

Muffin Tin Monday - Valentine's Day
I'm going to *try* to do Muffin Tin Mondays on a more regular basis... This week's theme was Valentine's Day, so I saved it for today.
Goldfish Vanilla Cupcake Graham Crackers
Heart sandwich with multi-grain sandwich thins, lettuce, roast beef, cheese and mayo
Sliced strawberries
Yoplait Black Forest Cake yogurt with Valentine's sprinkles
Muffin Tin Monday has a new home!

A Quick Funny
Thursday, January 24, 2013
Brrr....
We got 5 inches of snow last night!
Connor met me at the back door, fully dressed and ready to play... even though it was only 8 degrees...
Apparently there is a lot to smell under the snow.
I never tire of seeing these trees in snow.
Our home.
Snuggling after playing in the snow!

Happy New Year?
So far, 2013 has not been very promising :)
On New Year's Eve, I came down with a cold, didn't even make it till midnight.
Then, the hard drive on our computer crashed. Luckily I still have all/most of my pictures either on the camera disk or online so I don't really "lose" anything important. No computer for a week.
Connor got sick last Monday and started throwing up, low grade fever, very mild flu symptoms that lasted for 24-36ish hours. Tuesday evening, I got sick again. This time with the flu. I had a 101-102 fever for 4 days and slept for a good portion of that time. No stomach issues, just fever, sore throat, couldn't hardly move, exhausted. My fever finally broke and I'm feeling ok, just very congested now. Connor's ok too, just coughing here and there.
Jon somehow managed to avoid getting sick.
Let's hope the rest of the year is better!
