Weddings

I really don't care too much about the Royal Wedding. I recorded it to see her dress (gorgeous!!) and see the horses. There's just something about the royal horses and the old carriages...

It does make me think of my own wedding almost 6 years ago. Of course, mine wasn't as elaborate! Most of my current readers weren't there. We got married at my college, Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College just outside of Terre Haute, IN on May 28, 2005. Here are some pictures:

This was taken on the balcony of my senior year college dorm room.

Rain, Rain, Go Away!

It has rained almost every day for the last two weeks. It's supposed to storm tomorrow and Thursday too! The old saying had better be true... April shower bring May flowers.

Or in my case, warm weather to heat up the soil so I can put my tomatoes outside. I've lost all my basil seedlings to dampening off. I have a few multi-colored bell peppers and most of my tomatoes left. I hope they make it. I did buy the cutest little Genovese Basil at Menards the other night. It's currently taking up space in my kitchen. Once the weather settles down, I need to plan out my garden and get everything tilled up. I may have to buy more tomato and pepper plants from the store. I may get a zucchini, not sure yet. I love zucchini bread, muffins, etc and do have people I can pass on extras too. Yeah... I think I will get a zucchini. Maybe two!

BzzAgent Review: SC Johnson Smart and Easy Spring Cleaning

I love being a BzzAgent! I receive free products in the mail to review. I joined the SC Johnson campaign and received a full size Pledge, Scrubbing Bubbles Foaming Bathroom Cleaner, Scrubbing Bubbles Mega Shower Foamer, Scrubbing Bubbles Toilet Gel, Glade Sparkle of Spring candle and a bunch of coupons.

I already use Scrubbing Bubbles Toilet Gel, Foaming Bathroom Cleaner, Automatic Shower Cleaner and Pledge.

Pledge - I use Pledge original and the Multi Purpose Cleaner almost every day on my dining room table. It helps keep my table nice after my messy toddler eats at it :) I use Pledge original on my wooden walls a few times of year to keep the dust off. I wouldn't use anything else.

Scrubbing Bubbles Toilet Gel - We have well water. Our toilets get a funky ring that we never had when we lived in the city. The toilet gel is wonderful. It is easy to adhere the gel to the side of the toilet. You don't have to touch anything and it lasts for a week. It really makes a difference and the smell is nice too!

Scrubbing Bubbles Foaming Bathroom Cleaner - I use this product on the other surfaces in my bathroom. It gets my sinks and tubs clean in a snap!

Glade Sparkle of Spring Candle - "The revitalizing scent of fresh lime and citrus captures the sensation of a rising sun and drops of glimmering dew." I was disappointed in the candle. It only lasted about 6 hours. The Glad website says it burns for 22 hours. However, I used a coupon for the Sparkle of Spring room spray and scented oil candle and love them! The scent is wonderfully springy and makes my living room smell so good! Sparkle of Spring is a Limited Edition, so if you want to try it, get it now! Here is the candle, check out the design. The scented oil candle has the same design. It looks so cute on my mantle!

Disclaimer: I was provided samples & coupons for this product in return for a review for BzzAgent.Com . No monetary value was exchanged for this blog.

Happy Easter!

I hope you all had a lovely Easter! Ours was pretty good. We visited my grandma, Uncle Roy, mom and John for breakfast. Then we went to Jon's grandma's and visited with his family. Connor participated in his first Easter Egg hunt. He got it pretty quickly and had fun! All in all, it was a good day with family!

Today, Connor is trying to figure out why there's nothing inside his eggs ;)

* Did you notice the change? Our blog is now called "The Brumstead". It's a combination of our last name and homestead.

Easter Saturday

This morning, we met up with the in-laws and took Connor to Breakfast with the Easter Bunny at a local country club. Easter Bunny went better than Santa. He just looked at him funny. The picture they took turned out crappy. She zoomed in and it is just his face and the creepy Bunny. My sister-in-law got a better pic, but I don't have it yet.

Yesterday, I bought Connor a new booster seat. It's called a Baby Smart Cooshie Booster Seat - BlueHook-on Booster Seats)
. He loves it. It allows him to get in and out of the chair by himself.

Here's Connor's Easter basket for tomorrow:

It's full of Lindt chocolately goodness, a Chuggington engine, Playdoh eggs and a cute frog :)

Happy Easter!

Connor's 2nd Birthday Party

We had Connor's 2nd birthday party at our house on Saturday. I can't believe the amount of people we fit in this house. Of course, being the mom and trying to make sure everything went smoothly, I didn't get many pics. I'm waiting on some from my sister-in-law.

No pictures of him opening presents... he was passed out on Grandma B at that ppoint!

A Few New Pics

We had plans to go to the zoo on Saturday. However, they close the gates before they actually close and we didn't know that... so we went to a park and a small beach on Lake Michigan.

Here's his new bed!

Saying Goodbye

I meant to post this earlier, but kept putting it off until now. My horses, Raja and Kobe, were put down last Friday morning. Raja was 23, Kobe was 21. They had a rough winter and had lost a lot of weight. I consulted with my vet, and she agreed that it was time. I will have horses again someday, but not anytime soon.
