Rain, Rain, Go Away!

It has rained almost every day for the last two weeks. It's supposed to storm tomorrow and Thursday too! The old saying had better be true... April shower bring May flowers.

Or in my case, warm weather to heat up the soil so I can put my tomatoes outside. I've lost all my basil seedlings to dampening off. I have a few multi-colored bell peppers and most of my tomatoes left. I hope they make it. I did buy the cutest little Genovese Basil at Menards the other night. It's currently taking up space in my kitchen. Once the weather settles down, I need to plan out my garden and get everything tilled up. I may have to buy more tomato and pepper plants from the store. I may get a zucchini, not sure yet. I love zucchini bread, muffins, etc and do have people I can pass on extras too. Yeah... I think I will get a zucchini. Maybe two!

Wow, I feel your pain! My Tuesday blog post was on this exact same topic(minus the gardening). "April Showers bring May flowers" has become my new motto. I just hope it's a true to life motto! :)

I've never heard that saying before but I like it. It's been really nice here recently, I always say that sping is the best time in Scotland and this year I seem to be right - probably means we're in for a soaking wet 'summer'!

I have lots of plants waiting for my new raised beds to be finished. I just need to energy to finish digging up the turf - hopefully this weekend.

Good luck with the garden,
Jade

I also have plants waiting for the completion of my raised garden! And bummer, looks like I am losing my cauliflower and kohlrabi seedlings.

Oh my gosh- how frustrating!!! My fingers are crossed for your tomatoes (did I mention living in apt makes me insanely jealous of your tomatoes??)

I'm so happy that the rain seems to have subsided in our part of the UK for now and the sun is starting to 'nenver mind come out' but stay!!!! I am doing lots of planting at the moment and can't wait to see the outcome in a couple of weeks....

Good luck with your garden
Blessings

I am just impressed with your gardening abilities. I am terrible with gardening although perhaps I will try it again one of these days.

We've always had a huge garden. This will be our first summer at our new house - the "yard" is a mountainside But hopefully we'll manage a garden of some size, some how. Love those fresh tomatoes!

Oh no, that's awful:( Here we've had full blown summer weather for over a week and suddenly yesterday it was like zero degrees in the morning and I had slept in my new house and never brought any warm clothes. :( That I didn't freeze to death when I walked to the bus!

Ugh that would suck! I hope you get a break so you can get your garden in order.
