Snowpocalypse? Not so much.

Some of you might have heard... Chicago and the surrounding areas had a blizzard on February 1st and 2nd. Some areas got over 20 inches and 4 ft drifts. Northwest IN was supposed to get lake effect snow, which means we get dumped on. Yeah... not so much. At least not at my house. We didn't get the viscious wind that other areas did. We have 8 inches in the lowest part, 13-16 in the highest. Most of the bottom rail of my horse fence is under snow. It is deep on the way to the barn, which makes it difficult to drag a sled with water buckets on it. But it's a great way to raise your heart rate! It was bitterly cold overnight. My weather station said -5 this morning when I went to feed the horses. I've been rotating buckets of warmed water for them to drink. Here are some pics from before we got the last 3 inches.
