Travels, Visitors and Shots

Last week, mom and I took Connor to the bank. We first stopped by to see Grandma J. Everyone at the bank thought he was so cute (of course). Everyone also wanted to know when I was coming back and if I was looking forward to it (no). Then we went to mom's work and stopped in at Linda's (co-worker on vacation) for a little while.

Saturday, we had lots of visitors and Connor turned 2 months old. Mom, Grandma J, Uncle Roy, Aunt Ev, Uncle Art, Aunt Verla and Linda (cousin) came by. We had pizza and visited for a few hours. They also thought Connor was adorable :) (Who doesn't?)

Today Connor got his 2 month shots. The doctor said he is doing great. Lots of strength and everything looks good. 13 lbs 4 oz, 24.5 inches long. He did really well with his shots. He screamed bloody murder till the band-aid was put on and he's been fine since.

More Pics

He loves his bear mobile!

The other morning, I couldn't see Connor on the monitor... where'd he go? To the bottom corner of the crib...

Baptism

We had Connor baptized last night. The service was nice. They had a banner up front with his name on it. Pastor did the baptism at the beginning of the service. Connor slept through the whole thing. I should have pictures to post soon.

Updates

Not too much to update. Connor is eating nonstop. He's at least 11.5 lbs now according to my scale. We've moved to the 8 oz bottles for overnight feedings. He's taking between 4 and 5 oz and if he has to wait while you make up another one, he has a huge meltdown. It's not the end of the world... but I suppose at 6 weeks old, it is :)

Jon is feeding him now and then he's getting a bath. Hopefully he'll go to sleep after. He's been eating a LOT at night and staying up till 11-12. And getting back up 3-4 hours later. We've had a few nights where he's slept 5-6 hours. Those are nice.

I have my 6 week check up tomorrow. Then we're going to have pictures taken. I plan on using one for his announcements. I haven't been able to take them using my camera. He has baby acne and it really shows. My computer is ancient and I don't have the photo editing software to fix it.

Appointments 5-6

My 2 week appt:

Incision looks great. Everything is healing really well. I was cleared to start picking up activity, slowly.

Connor's 2 week appt:

As I thought, my son is a piggie :) He's been eating non-stop lately. He weighed in at 9 lbs 8 oz! That's a pound and a half more than when we left the hospital! In 2 weeks! His doctor said that's fine, as long as he isn't spitting up a lot (he rarely spits up anything).

Our updates:

Everything is going well. Due to the large amount of visitors we've had, I've only had 2 days alone with him so far. We're mostly on a schedule. He eats about every 3-4 hours usually. He's getting a lot more alert.

I haven't been successful with breastfeeding. I still blame most of it on the nursery staff giving him bottles and cups of formula. I have rented a hospital grade pump. He gets mostly pumped breastmilk with some formula if needed. Pumping is definitely more time consuming, but it's important to me that he gets it.
