Happy New Year!

We have no plans for tonight other than grocery shopping. I doubt I'll make it till 12 am. Momma needs her sleep.

I do have new pictures (seriously). I promise to upload them either tonight or tomorrow and get them posted. Jon took them last weekend, so at the beginning of 26 weeks.

Baby Connor has been moving all over the place this week. A few days ago, Jon had a bad day, and as he was telling me about it, he was raising his voice. Connor can definitely hear now! Apparently he wasn't thrilled with Jon's tone :) and let me know by kicking (or punching, not sure) repeatedly.

We've got mostly everything out of his room. We just need to go through the closet and find new homes for some games and the vacuum.

If you're going out tonight, please be safe!!

Yuck

I had my gestational diabetes test this morning. Yuck. It's a sweet orange drink, like flat orange pop. And it had bits that were frozen floating in it. I had to sit there for an hour afterwards. They took 3-4 vials of blood. I better pass... it's not fair to test for that after Christmas :) If I don't pass, it'll be a 3 hour test.

Appointment Dec 15th (24 weeks 1 day)

I lucked out. Dr wants to do the gestational diabetes test in 2 weeks (at 26 weeks). The nurses want me to fast for 8-10 hours, and my appt is at 8:10 am. No problem. I'll sleep in, feed the horses, drive 2 mins to his office, do the stupid test, then have breakfast.

Heartbeat was 142 bpm. He's measuring 24 weeks 2 days, so right on target. Weighs 1.5 lbs. According to their scale, I am up 4 lbs from my last visit. But seriously, that goes up and down every other day. And because of the scale, my blood pressure was high. Of course I had to pee in a cup... and when I walked out, I was just thinking "Room 1..." and tripped over the damn scale. They have it right outside the door. Then the nurse came and took my blood pressure right away and it was high. Gee, wonder why. I almost faceplanted in the hallway! She said that even the nurses trip over it. I think it's time to move it...

We did get some ultrasound pics, but none good enough to scan in. We could see him gulping and the tech says he has a strong chin and long legs. Everything looks good.

Mini Update

Our next appt is Dec 15th, and I am going to scan in the last ultrasound pics and the new ones that day. I haven't had time (or ambition?) to get to Walgreens to do so yet.

Everything is still going well. I still feel fine for the most part. I think he was growing yesterday. I was so tired and exhausted. We did nothing this weekend. We were going to put up the Christmas tree yesterday, but yeah... that didn't happen. I did get some Christmas cards done, but apparently lost my address book at some point. I looked all over and can't find it.

I am really missing my flannel lined jeans. They don't make them in maternity sizes. I am wearing sweat pants to feed the horses. My maternity jeans and work pants are paper thin. The wind and cold goes right through them. At least I can still wear my Carhartt jacket.

eta: A week or so ago, someone posted on one of the baby boards asking if anyone can still see their feet. I thought, well of course... I stood up and checked. Um no. Missing. When did that happen??

Quick Update

Sorry I haven't updated lately. This site is blocked from work and my computer at home is tempermental.

We had our 20 week check up yesterday. Everything looks good! I still haven't gained weight, they are not concerned yet. Heart rate is 153 bpm, and HE weighs 10-11 oz.

It's a boy!!

Pics, ultrasound and due date change.

Well, the due date got changed again. Now we're back to the original, April 6th. We talked to the actual doctor yesterday, and he said he didn't know why the nurse practitioner told us I was a month further. The baby was measuring 15weeks 4days yesterday. So.... jump ahead, go back.

The tech said the heartrate was 145 beats/minute. She said everything looks great, strong, healthy, etc. Baby weighs 4 oz. She said she can't tell us 100% yet if it's a boy or girl, but thinks she sees boy parts. I don't know, looks like the umbilical cord to me. So I go back in 5 weeks for the actual 20 week scan, and it should be clearer then. But at least I know everything is ok!

Ultrasound pics:

It's come to my attention that some people can't figure these out. This is the front of the head, you can see both halves of the brain, eyes, nose, mouth and torso.

Back of head, ribs, spine

I think you can all read... But, if you can't tell the rest... you can see both arms, torso and knees tucked up.

I don't see it. Especially with the age, THOSE should not have descended yet.

Toes... the better to kick me with.

I see an umbilical cord.

Last night after we got home. Don't mind me, I was tired and h-u-n-g-r-y. Jon was taking too long trying to get Madison to look at the camera.

And a token Raja photo. Kobe decided to hide.

No pics yet

I am so sorry everyone, no pics yet. My computer at home (Mac iBook, circa 2000) has an issue with it's screen, and frequently blacks out. It also doesn't get along with the camera. I tried over the weekend and just got fed up with it. I will fight with it again tonight.

I did go to the New Kids On The Block concert on Saturday night. It was absolutely amazing! I ended up going by myself. A group of us tried getting tickets together, and they were sold out. I managed to get one of the last single tickets. And wouldn't you know, the 3 seats next to me were empty.

My next doctor's appointment is Monday the 13th. I'll be 19 weeks, 1 day, and asked if I can just have the ultrasound then. That way, I don't have to come back the next week and miss more time from work (what a shame that would be!). They said last time they do the first ultrasound at 20 weeks. A girl I work with is only 7 weeks, and she's already had one.
