Pics, ultrasound and due date change.

Well, the due date got changed again. Now we're back to the original, April 6th. We talked to the actual doctor yesterday, and he said he didn't know why the nurse practitioner told us I was a month further. The baby was measuring 15weeks 4days yesterday. So.... jump ahead, go back.

The tech said the heartrate was 145 beats/minute. She said everything looks great, strong, healthy, etc. Baby weighs 4 oz. She said she can't tell us 100% yet if it's a boy or girl, but thinks she sees boy parts. I don't know, looks like the umbilical cord to me. So I go back in 5 weeks for the actual 20 week scan, and it should be clearer then. But at least I know everything is ok!

Ultrasound pics:

It's come to my attention that some people can't figure these out. This is the front of the head, you can see both halves of the brain, eyes, nose, mouth and torso.

Back of head, ribs, spine

I think you can all read... But, if you can't tell the rest... you can see both arms, torso and knees tucked up.

I don't see it. Especially with the age, THOSE should not have descended yet.

Toes... the better to kick me with.

I see an umbilical cord.

Last night after we got home. Don't mind me, I was tired and h-u-n-g-r-y. Jon was taking too long trying to get Madison to look at the camera.

And a token Raja photo. Kobe decided to hide.

No pics yet

I am so sorry everyone, no pics yet. My computer at home (Mac iBook, circa 2000) has an issue with it's screen, and frequently blacks out. It also doesn't get along with the camera. I tried over the weekend and just got fed up with it. I will fight with it again tonight.

I did go to the New Kids On The Block concert on Saturday night. It was absolutely amazing! I ended up going by myself. A group of us tried getting tickets together, and they were sold out. I managed to get one of the last single tickets. And wouldn't you know, the 3 seats next to me were empty.

My next doctor's appointment is Monday the 13th. I'll be 19 weeks, 1 day, and asked if I can just have the ultrasound then. That way, I don't have to come back the next week and miss more time from work (what a shame that would be!). They said last time they do the first ultrasound at 20 weeks. A girl I work with is only 7 weeks, and she's already had one.

Cradle

My mom called last night. She talked to our cousin Les and we are going to borrow the cradle that he restored a few years ago. It was used by my grandma, Aunt Ev, Aunt Verla and Uncle Wendell. So starting in 1920. How cool is that?

Jon did take some belly pics over the weekend. However, my computer at home has been acting up, so I haven't gotten them uploaded yet. Hopefully by this weekend!

Welcome!

Some of you already know, some don't, but we are expecting!

I am 15 weeks, 5 days today. We heard the heartbeat on Monday. We won't have an ultrasound until 20 weeks. At that time, provided Baby JB cooperates, we can find out if it's a boy or a girl.

I haven't gained any weight yet (actually lost 6 lbs, which Grandma Jennings nicely says was needed anyway...), but had to start wearing maternity clothes for work yesterday. My uniforms were just too tight and uncomfortable.

Madison (our Rottweiler) must know something is different. She follows me everywhere. If I go to bed early, she lays outside the door and if I move, she goes and gets Jon to check on me.

Kobe (the mare I've had for 7 years) knows something is different. She won't let Raja anywhere near me. Raja has been with us for a bit over a year and still has a lot of trust issues. Someone wasn't very nice to him. He can be very unpredictable. If he comes near me, Kobe gets between us and pins her ears at him. Kobe also keeps sniffing at my belly. She's such a sweetheart. I wouldn't trade her for anything.

The farrier comes tomorrow. Jon is not on call and has already informed me that I am not to do anything with the horses. He will hold both of them. Kobe is a good girl and doesn't really need to be held, but Raja can be goofy. Since we do trims in the driveway in nice weather, he doesn't want me near them just in case one were to swing around and knock me over or push me. I agree when it comes to Raja, but not Kobe. I'm not taking any chances though.

I'll try to keep this updated, so check back often. At this time, comments won't be screened and I don't think you need an account to comment. Just leave your name so I know who you are ;)
