5th Birthday!

Connor celebrated his 5th birthday on Easter this year! I figured it out and he will have an Easter birthday for his 16th, 78th and 89th. I can't picture him at 16, let alone 89!

We had a small dinosaur themed family party on Saturday.

Max

Connor brought home a new friend on Wednesday. Max is the Pre-K class monkey. He goes back to school tomorrow. Max came with a diary that we had to fill out. We had to take him everywhere with his. He went out to eat, grocery shopping, to soccer practice and outside to play.

Soccer!

Connor had his first soccer practice last night. Thursday is skills night and he will do different stations. They got through two last night before our parents meeting. Unfortunately, we missed a chunk of the meeting, hope we didn't miss anything important!

We will get our schedule this weekend hopefully. Jon is the assistant coach for Connor's team :)

Chickens and Bluebirds

The chickens had a blast digging through the garden bed yesterday. Layers of straw, leaves and newspaper apparently hide lots of yummy bugs and sprouts. 

This is mama Bluebird. She is the one who made her nest in the wall of our three-seasons room last year. They never actually left, they stayed all winter. She was out hunting. It's already too late to put up nesting boxes, we spotted them building their nest already. I'm going to put up one box in the walnut tree and see if they will move later on... 

Puppy and Ice Cream

Bailey is 18 months old! She's such a good looking girl!

Connor and I have been making ice cream. Our first batch had broken chocolate covered graham crackers and marshmallow topping for s'mores. The second batch has cream cheese and a can of strawberry pie filling for strawberry cheesecake ice cream. The next time we make it, I will take pictures and post them with the recipe.

Quilt and Other Things...

I finished my first lap quilt. It has lots of mistakes, but that is ok!

I spotted a skunk coming out of the woods. It went to the neighbor's field and then back into the woods. This is the first one I've seen here.

And we had one last (hopefully) snow/ice storm on March 12th. We've had dustings of snow since then, but hopefully we're all done now. I'm so sick of snow.
